“Surely goodness and mercy
shall follow me
All the days of my life”
(Psalm 23:6)
Ha ha…
Seemed like a
“Trick Question”
Or is it…?
Does “Goodness and Mercy”
Follow you?
Or would you be more aware
Of “Bad things”?
“No matter what I do”
It ALWAYS goes WRONG…
“No matter what I say”
I USUALLY end up in TROUBLE…
“For as he thinks in his heart,
so is he”
(Proverbs 23:7)
God has PROMISED
That goodness and mercy
WILL follow… those who
Consider Him as their
SHEPHERD…
This, after all, is WHAT
Psalm 23 is based upon…
But equally as well
Bad things also
Have a habit of following us
As well…
The determining factor
Is found in Proverbs 23:7
“For as he thinks in his heart,
so is he”
What is your dominant thought?
How do you THINK?
You could also add to that:
What are you SAYING?
Consistently…?
“A man’s stomach shall be satisfied
from the fruit of his mouth;
From the produce of his lips
he shall be filled.
Death and life
are in the power of the tongue,
And those who love it
will eat its fruit.”
(Proverbs 18:20 – 21)
These two aspects of our being
On the whole…
Determine largely…
WHAT follows us…
HOW we THINK…
And WHAT we SAY…
God, our good Shepherd
WANTS us to LIVE in
“Goodness and Mercy”
But if we continue to FOCUS
On the BAD that is all around us
And ONLY think on those things
And continually complain
About those things…
(That is SPEAK them
Out of our MOUTHS)…
Then BAD things WILL BE
The dominant thing in our lives…
However, we CAN
Turn this around
By simply choosing to BELIEVE
In the “Goodness and Mercy”
That God has promised
Will follow us…
And SPEAK and THINK
On these things…
“Surely goodness and mercy
shall follow me
All the days of my life”
(Psalm 23:6)
