Unity or Division?

“Behold, how good and
how pleasant it is
For brethren to dwell
together in unity! …
For there the Lord
commanded the blessing—
Life forevermore.”
(Psalm 133:1 & 3b)

“And the scribes who came
down from Jerusalem said,
“He has Beelzebub,” and,
“By the ruler of the demons
He casts out demons.”
So He called them to Himself
and said to them in parables:
“How can Satan cast out Satan?
If a kingdom is divided against itself,
that kingdom cannot stand.
And if a house is divided against itself,
that house cannot stand.
And if Satan has risen up
against himself,
and is divided,
he cannot stand,
but has an end.
No one can enter a strong man’s house
and plunder his goods,
unless he first binds the strong man.
And then he will plunder his house.”
(Mark 3:22 – 27)

Two passages…
The first from the
Book of Psalms
The second from Mark chapter 3

The Lord commands a blessing
Where there is UNITY…

But where there is DIVISION
And CONFUSION…
OPINIONATED individuals,
MURMURINGS and CONTENTIONS
“That house cannot stand”
(Mark 3:25)

A popular phrase might be:
“We need to be singing
From the same Hymn sheet”

It is very obvious in Music
When someone is singing
Out of tune…
Or indeed singing something
Completely different
Than everyone else

Good music reflects Psalm 133
Since in the UNITY of song
There is a great blessing

We need to be people
Who choose to “Sing in Tune”

Oh and it has nothing to do
With whether or not you
Can sing in the first place

This is an intention
Of the HEART…

A decision to be in UNITY
Rather than trying to
Cause DIVISION

Perhaps another way
Of saying this is…
Let us decide to be
PEACEMAKERS
