Not only is it important what you say…
It is important who it is…
That says it…
Many people today HAVE an opinion
Well, actually…
Everybody has an opinion
But more and more people today…
SHARE IT…
Unfortunately for many…
They are not concerned as to
Whether or not you WANT to HEAR
Their opinion…
But SPEAK IT they will do…
What they SAY…
May or may not be the truth
Though “truth” seems to have
Less and less to do with the telling
These days…
And THAT is so sad…
In the book of Revelation
John records these words:
“These things says…”
(Revelation 2:1, 8, 12, 18 & 3:1, 7, 14)
SEVEN times
And to the SEVEN churches
And we can guess by whom…
“He who has an ear,
let him hear what the Spirit says
to the churches.”
(Revelation 2:7, 11, 17, 29 & 3:6, 13, 22)
Again, SEVEN times
To the SEVEN churches
The Holy Spirit of Jesus – GOD
Is speaking to the SEVEN churches
And He identifies Himself
In the following ways…
“He who holds the seven stars
in His right hand,
who walks in the midst of
the seven golden lampstands:”
(Revelation 2:1)
At the end of Revelation chapter 1
God explains to John
That the seven stars are the
Seven angels of the seven churches
And that the seven lampstands
Are the seven churches…
So this is GOD who is talking
To the SEVEN churches…
God holds the angels
And God is in the midst
Of the churches
God is WITH them
He is FOR them
And NOT against them
And we need to understand this
And realise that this is true
For us today as well
We need to remind ourselves:
“For He Himself has said,
“I will never leave you
nor forsake you.” “
(Hebrews 13:5)
“the First and the Last,
who was dead,
and came to life”
(Revelation 2:8)
This should be an easier one
For us to understand
Talking about Jesus…
“He who has the sharp
two-edged sword”
(Revelation 2:12)
“For the word of God
is living and powerful,
and sharper than any
two-edged sword”
(Hebrews 4:12)
“In the beginning was the Word,
and the Word was with God,
and the Word was God.”
(John 1:1)
“And the Word became flesh”
(John 1:14)
These two quotes from John
Show us that
“The Word”
The Bible
Is JESUS
So Jesus HAS the
“sharp two-edged sword”
(Revelation 2:12)
“the Son of God”
(Revelation 2:18)
Again very obvious
“He who has the
seven Spirits of God
and the seven stars”
(Revelation 3:1)
Very similar to Revelation 2:1
“He who is holy,
He who is true”
(Revelation 3:7)
“the Amen,
the Faithful and True Witness,
the Beginning of the creation of God”
(Revelation 3:14)
This is who is speaking to John
God Himself
Father
Son and
Holy Spirit
And WHAT He says is TRUTH
His OPINION is the ONLY opinion
WORTH listening to
Because it is the TRUTH
