There are consequences to our actions

Of all the titles I’ve used
This has to be the most obvious

Everyone knows that there are
Consequences as a result
Of the things that we do

And yet when it comes to God
We somehow think that things
Will be different…

Maybe it’s because we have this
Wrong view of what “Love” truly is

We believe that God is “Love”
And that He truly “Loves” us
So how could He possibly
Do anything “Unloving” to us?

And yet the Bible teaches us
That to truly “Love” you must
Hate that which is evil
(Romans 12:9)

“Then He began to rebuke the cities
in which most of His mighty works
had been done,
because they did not repent:”
(Matthew 11:20)

“But I say to you that it shall be more
tolerable for the land of Sodom
in the day of judgment than for you.”
(Matthew 11:24)

We would never consider “not repenting”
As being “EVIL”
And yet the outcome that Jesus
Describes in Matthew 11:20 – 24 can
Definitely not be considered as
A blessing…

But then immediately after rebuking
These cities, Jesus goes on to express
The benefits of repentance

“Come to Me, all you who labor
and are heavy laden,
and I will give you rest.
Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me,
for I am gentle and lowly in heart,
and you will find rest for your souls.
For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
(Matthew 11:28 – 30)

“Coming to Jesus” is what repentance IS

Jesus will give us REST
He will teach us
He is gentle and lowly in heart
And working for Him is NOT
A heavy or arduous task

So which consequences would you prefer?
Harsh judgement…?
Or REST…?

This shouldn’t be a difficult choice
So choose wisely

But just in case you need help…

REPENT
