The Weapons of our Warfare are NOT Carnal – Part 3

“For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal
but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds”
(2 Corinthians 10:4)

In Part 2 I spoke on
The Whole Armour of God
As described in Ephesians 6
As being part of the weapons of God

One other weapon that I want to refer to
Is Holy Communion, as Paul describes
In 1 Corinthians 11 and in particular
Verse 30:
“For this reason many are weak and
sick among you, and many sleep.”

The problem with the Corinthian church
Is that they DID NOT discern
The Lord’s body

They met together for Holy Communion
And treated it wrongfully
(See 1 Corinthians 11:17 – 22)

We can do the same or similar thing
By viewing Holy Communion
As one complete sacrament
That is we “just take the bread and wine” as one

But there is bread, and
There is wine
Two parts

The bread represents Jesus’ body
Broken for us
We struggle to comprehend
How His body was broken
First by the soldiers with their whips
Then hung on a cross – until death
Not to mention, that He hung there
Because of His love for us

“And by His stripes we are healed”
Isaiah 53:5 & 1 Peter 2:24 (past tense)

Death came into the world
Through Adam and Eve
Eating of the forbidden fruit

Healing can come into your body
By eating the body of Jesus, the bread
Receive Holy Communion from Jesus
Receive your healing from Him
When you eat the bread

The wine represents the blood of Jesus
Poured out freely
To wash away our sins

Blood from His head, His hands
His back, His feet
Cleansing, washing away our sin
As far as the east is from the west

When we drink His blood, the wine
We acknowledge the forgiveness He has given
We have already been forgiven
And we remember His death until He comes

Fight the good fight of faith
With the mighty weapons that God has given us
Trust in Him and what He has done for us
And rest in what He is doing through us
