I am a spirit
I have a soul and
I live in a body
(1 Thessalonians 5:23)
The SOUL is the nerve centre,
the control centre
This is the part of us that
determines what truly happens
When we are IN Christ
We ARE a NEW creation
(2 Corinthians 5:17 & 18a)
Our SPIRIT is identical to Jesus
And so,
This part of our regeneration
Is over, finished
Our BODY, on the other hand
Will return to the dust
From whence it came
(Genesis 3:19)
It is NOT regenerated
But we will receive a NEW
Immortal body at the last trumpet
(1 Corinthians 15:52 & 53)
But our SOUL which includes our MIND,
determines whether or not
We live a spiritual life
Or a fleshly life
Paul beseeches us to be transformed
By the renewing of our mind
(Romans 12:2)
And, if indeed we are in Christ,
To set our mind on things above,
Not on things on the earth
(Colossians 3:1 & 2)
We have a CHOICE:
1. Live heavenly minded – spiritual
2. Live earthly minded – fleshly or carnal
Surely this is a “no-brainer”
And yet so often we get it wrong
WHY?
Because of the pull of the familiar
What we can see, taste, hear,
Smell and feel from our five senses
The “reality” of this world SCREAMS
So loudly in our ears
We NEED a paradigm shift
In our thinking
To see the “REALITY”
Of heaven and spiritual things
As being MORE REAL
Than what we are used to
OUR choice…
