Righteousness

Yesterday (Sunday 27th September 2020)
I preached on Righteousness
Self or Christ’s…
And I challenged you not to be deceived
Into depending on your own righteousness

Like the Religious Leaders in Matthew 21
We too can become “puffed up”
If we are not careful
But ensuring we are established in Him

I also spoke about being of one accord
Like-minded, together in love
As Paul spoke of in Philippians 2
Being Christ-like

But this can seem too high a calling
For any of us to be able to achieve

However, in a similar way that our
Righteousness is NOT our own
But is from Christ
And is His righteousness

We need to remember:
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ,
he is a new creation;
 old things have passed away;
behold, all things have become new.
Now all things are of God”
(2 Corinthians 5:17)

When we rely on Jesus
For our right standing before God
(His righteousness)
We also rely on the fact
That since we are IN Christ
We ARE a new creation

And THIS new creation
Which is about “all things”
That is everything in our life
Are of God

He does NOT leave us on our own
When we depend on Him

So again, to refer back to yesterday’s sermon
And what I have said above
We will NOT be deceived
When we depend on Him

His righteousness
Like-minded
Humble ourselves and depend on Him
Trust Him
Love Him and love others
Be like Him
By and through His power within us
