Matthew chapter 4
Shows us the start of
The Ministry of Jesus
At first He was led by the Holy Spirit
Into the wilderness to be tempted
By the devil
Then:
“From that time Jesus began to preach
and to say, “Repent,
for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.””
(Matthew 4:17)
Now here in Matthew 4:18 – 22
He calls His first Disciples
While walking beside the Sea of Galilee
Not far from Capernaum
Where He started preaching
And then in Matthew 4:23 – 25
He continues on with His ministry
Of preaching, teaching
Healing all kinds of sickness
And healing all kinds of disease
And:
“Great multitudes followed Him
—from Galilee, and from Decapolis,
Jerusalem, Judea,
and beyond the Jordan.”
(Matthew 4:25)
