Knowing and knowing…

Be still and KNOW that I am God
(Psalm 46:10)

Adam KNEW Eve his wife, and…
(Genesis 4:1)

In today’s world – Information is power
This information is knowledge
Or knowing ABOUT something

In the Bible – knowledge and knowing are different
The first is an acquisition of information
The second comes by revelation

The first can simply be learned
The second requires meditation, time and the Holy Spirit

The first is neutral
The second involves intimacy and relationship

In order to truly know God
You must first be submitted and committed to Him
This comes from being born again
As Jesus told Nicodemus in John chapter 3
To be born from above

Everyone comes into the world through the birth process
But only those who trust in Jesus Christ
As their personal Saviour
And commit / submit to Him as their Lord
Enter into this born again experience

Then from the position of being born again
We grow in our relationship with God
Father, Son and Holy Spirit

And this can take TIME…
Sometimes a lot of time
Because it involves renewing our minds
(Romans 12:2)
Which brings about the transformation
And with transformation comes revelation
A sense of KNOWING by the Holy Spirit

Personally and biblically we know that He knew us
Before we were in our mother’s womb
(Jeremiah 1:5)
But until we know this by revelation
It is hard to fully understand His love for us

Many of us struggle with accepting ourselves
Because we base this on our knowledge of ourselves
But His knowledge of us was even before we WERE
And he KNEW us and LOVED us THEN…

How much more does He love us NOW
And knowing this, by revelation
Just opens the heart of God IN our hearts
We are filled with His love
His abundant love, which has no end
