Jude – verse 1 & 2

Greeting to the Called – Part 2
(verses 1 & 2)

“To those who are called,
sanctified by God the father,
and preserved in Jesus Christ:”
(Jude verse 1)

“And we know that all things work together
for good to those who love God,
to those who are the called
according to His purpose.”
(Romans 8:28)

Jude is speaking to those
Who are CALLED
In Romans, Paul addresses
Believers as being the CALLED

“Now may the God of peace Himself
sanctify you completely;
and may your whole spirit, soul, and body
be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
(1 Thessalonians 5:23)

Again what Paul says in Thessalonians
Is echoed by Jude

As Christians:
Jesus is able and will KEEP us
“None can pluck them from My hand”
(John 10:28)

We are sanctified, made holy by the Father
Because we are called
Called by God

Now many are called
But not all respond favourably to the Lord
“For many are called, but few are chosen.”
(Matthew 22:14)

So many are called
And those who respond positively
Are sanctified and preserved by God

When we choose to trust Him
We can be assured that He is faithful
To keep us safe

The conclusion of this introduction is:
“Mercy, peace, and love be multiplied to you.”
(Jude verse 2)

As believers
As Christians
As called
As sanctified
As protected
And preserved
Mercy, peace, and love be multiplied to YOU
