God is with you

I am with you
I am all you need

“And He said to me,
“My grace is sufficient for you,”
(2 Corinthians 12:9 NKJV)

“Each time he said,
“No. But I am with you;
that is all you need.”
(2 Corinthians 12:9 TLB)

Do we believe that God is WITH US?

And because He IS with us…
That is ALL that we need…
Do WE believe that?

Most of us say that we do, believe that
But in practice, in reality…
The truth is perhaps something different

We WANT it to be true
BUT…

If you agree with the “BUT…”
Don’t feel condemned
Rather realise where your problem is

What follows the “BUT…”
Will be different for everybody
And I am not about to try and list things

However, suffice it to say
That whatever follows the “BUT…”
Is NOT God
And herein lies the answer

“I am with you
I am all you need”
Involves more than mental assent

It also involves relationship
And fellowship

At the risk of causing offence
A bit like having a dog
They need looking after
Time spent with
Fed, cared for, trained
All of which takes time…
Time spent WITH the dog

The difference, (for many reasons)
Is that God will not insist on our attention
And demand our time and affection
But will rather wait patiently for us
And will ALWAYS be available
When we finally decide to call upon Him

So if we take the time
To read our Bibles
To fellowship with Him
Father, Son and Holy Spirit
To talk to and with Him
Be mindful of Him…

Rather than being mindful
Of everything else…
That comes after our “BUT…”

We will not only believe Him
Not only believe that He is with us
But we will KNOW that He is ALL we need
