Give us each day…

“Our Father which art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come.
Thy will be done in earth,
as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.”
(Matthew 6:9 – 11 KJV)

As I copied that text, I gave a little laugh
Isn’t it strange how we go back to tradition?
Which quite ironically is what
I am going to write about today

I usually read from the NKJV
But felt that most people would
Be familiar with the beginning
Of the The Lord’s Prayer in the KJV

“Our Father in heaven,
Hallowed be Your name.
Your kingdom come.
Your will be done
On earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.”
(Matthew 6:9 – 11 NKJV)

The part that is the same in both versions is
“Give us this day our daily bread.”

Reading Devotionals is a good thing
But the ones that I read and share
With people end up repeating
Usually because they are in a yearly cycle

And Jesus said to His Disciples to pray
“Give us this day our daily bread.”

So starting with Devotionals is GOOD
But the key is to rely on Jesus
Or to put it another way
It is better to move from
“Milk” to “solid food”

And if you don’t understand what I just said
Then stay on Devotionals until you do…
