As I was taking Holy Communion
This morning
Revelation started to flow
I understood Communion in a new
And a fresh way
I start my day with Holy Communion
And I am conscious of receiving
The elements (bread and wine)
From Jesus Himself
As I sit on my own
With a piece of biscuit in one hand
And a small (thimbleful) glass
Of wine in the other
I see myself receiving them from
And with Jesus, My Lord and Saviour
Since Communion is sharing in common
I talk with Him as we are about to share
And was reminded of Leviticus 17:11
“For the life of the flesh is in the blood”
Then I thought of 1 John 4:17
“as He is, so are we in this world.”
And I realised that the “life”
Which is in the blood (of communion)
Is Eternal Life – His Life
Eternal Life is not simply something
We enjoy and look forward to in heaven
But Eternal Life starts for the believer
As soon as he or she believes
Link this with 2 Corinthians 5:17 – 18a
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ,
he is a new creation; old things
have passed away; behold,
all things have become new.
Now all things are of God”
Right now I am brand new – in Christ
I am like Him in this world – as He is
Communion is taken in remembrance
Of Him and discerned in the taking
I am made up of three parts
Spirit, soul and body
(1 Thessalonians 5:23)
My spirit is identical to Jesus
(1 John 4:17)
My soul agrees with what is true in my spirit
(As I have been explaining above)
Therefore, my body MUST line-up
With what is True in my spirit
And what is True in my soul
Even though I may FEEL pain in my body
It is a LIE, it is NOT the truth
For my spirit and my soul declare
That I am HEALED
Why – because I am as He IS
And He, Jesus is NOT sick
This is why we are to LIVE
According to the spirit
And NOT after the flesh
“do not walk according to the flesh
but according to the Spirit.”
(Romans 8:4)
The bread and the wine
Are simply bread and wine
But when we take them
And think about what we are doing
Discerning the Lord’s body
Until He comes
Doing this in remembrance of Him
Revelation, peace, love, wholeness…
Will FLOW in and out of our lives
