By His stripes we are healed

Do you believe that…?

Now before you jump in…
With the correct answer…
Or, at least, with what you THINK
Is the correct answer…

Just THINK about it for a moment…

The Bible says:
“Surely He has borne our griefs
And carried our sorrows;
Yet we esteemed Him stricken,
Smitten by God, and afflicted.
But He was  wounded for our transgressions,
He was bruised for our iniquities;
The chastisement for our peace was upon Him,
And by His stripes we are healed.”
(Isaiah 53:4 – 5)

With the “by His stripes we are healed.”
Coming right at the end

And:
“who Himself bore our sins in His own body
on the tree, that we, having died to sins,
might live for righteousness—by
whose stripes you were healed.”
(1 Peter 2:24)

With the “by whose stripes you were healed.”
Again, coming at the end of the quote
But this time being written in the PAST Tense

If you are still with me – GOOD
I know, you have heard this ALL before
But think about what it DOESN’T say

It doesn’t say:
By His stripes…
AND
With what WE do to help

Now am I saying that WE are to do NOTHING
NO – definitely NOT
But WHAT determines WHAT WE DO…?

Do WE DO – to HELP the process…?
After all, Jesus NEEDS our help…?

Hopefully, you can see that that is WRONG

Or, do we do – what He has told us to do…?
Or, do we simply believe that we ARE healed
And ACT accordingly…?

Now again, THINK about this
If you are NOT sick nor unhealthy
If you are well and in good physical health

Is there anything you cannot do…?
Of course not

Do you think about whether or not
You are well enough to do something?
And again, NO, of course not
WHY?
Because you ARE NOT sick

So, therefore, you go and do whatever it is
That you have set out to do

SO…IF…you are healed…by His stripes…
Or indeed, WERE healed by His stripes…
Then surely, we should go and do whatever
It is that we would normally do…?

NOW, if that this point…
You are tempted to say…
Or indeed feel the need to say…
“But I CAN’T…”
Because you hurt…
Or you FEEL unwell…

Then, do we truly believe
That He HAS already done it
Or not…?
