In Daniel 9:3 – 19, Daniel prays a prayer to God which takes about 3 minutes to pray.
In Daniel 9:20 – 23 the angel Gabriel shows up to gives Daniel the answer from God
Saying that from the moment Daniel started praying, God was giving the answer
Then in Daniel 10, Daniel was praying again but this time it took three weeks for the angel to arrive and answer his prayer
In Daniel 10:13 the angel says that he was held up by the prince of the kingdom of Persia
Michael, the archangel, came to help him and so now he is able to appear to Daniel
Clearly this “prince of the kingdom of Persia” is NOT human as both Gabriel and Michael are angelsSo we must presume that the prince of the kingdom of Persia is a “bad angel” or rather a demon
Angels are either GOOD – heavenly, or EVIL – demonic
The GOOD will always overcome the EVIL but it may involve a fight – as depicted in Daniel 10
The world says that GOOD and EVIL are equal opposites
But the devil is a created being – the archangel Lucifer, before he tempted Adam and Eve in the garden
God, on the other hand, has always been
He has no beginning and no end
So God WILL overcome for He IS God.
In Psalm 8 we find our position in relation to angels
Verses 4 and 5 ask the question of why God is mindful of man
And goes on to say that we have been made a “little lower than the angels”
But if you look in the margins, of most Bibles, you will find a footnote
The word translated “angels” is “Elohim” in the Hebrew which means “God”
WE have been made a “little lower” than God
Which means we have been made ABOVE the angels
This was before the Fall
Adam and Eve HAD authority over the angels, along with everything else – ALL living things
But they gave up this authority when they were tempted and ate of the fruit of the tree – in the garden
So Daniel had NO authority over the “prince of the kingdom of Persia” himself, because of Adam and Eve
We, on the other hand, HAVE authority over the angels because of Jesus
Matthew 28:18 – ALL authority in heaven and earth has been given to Jesus
So because we are IN Christ and He is IN us – we HAVE this same authority
And as demons ARE fallen angels – we have authority over them too
But as Daniel 10 shows us, we may have to fight – but we WILL overcome
For He overcame and IN Him we ARE over comers
So do not fear their appearance – GOOD or EVIL angels
For by the name of Jesus – they WILL submit to you
